One of India's leading hospitals, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals is spread over 12 acres of land and has a built-up area of 600,000 square feet. A joint venture between the Apollo Hospitals Group and the Government of Delhi, it was founded in 1996. Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals was the first Indian hospital to be awarded the gold-standard certification from the Joint Commission International (JCI) USA. It is the largest hospital of the group and was built at a cost of 44 million US dollars. The hospital handles close to 200,000 patients a year, of which 12,000 are international patients. International patients come to Indraprastha Apollo from the USA, UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia, Yemen, Africa and CIS countries, among other countries.

Facilities Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Delhi has a bed-capacity of 560 including 140 ICU beds and 44 HDU beds. It has 14 operation theatres, 3 dedicated cardiac theatres and 10 bedded surgical ICU. The Hospital Information Systems and Digital Record Systems provide real-time access to patient information. Dr. Marya operated on my right knee and replaced the joint. It is working fine but sometimes it gets locked, so I have to jerk it to unlock it. There is no pain though. He is a very good doctor and hospital also is very good for treatment but it is costly.
